Each blue pearl is rub-over set by hand and mirror cut to produce the highest quality setting.
-
Blue pearls special appeal is in their vibrant colours which flow gradually into each other. Colours change in the way it catches the light and that combined with the reflective qualities gives each pearl its unique character. The main colours are blue, green, gold and pink with hints of red and violet. The colours can be vibrant tones or subtle hues, which makes the number of colour combinations infinite.
-
Blue Pearls are divided in three grades -Gem grade, A grade and B grade. The grades are determined by the surface (smooth or textured), luster (mirror image and reflective quality). Each blue pearl has its own unique certificate of authenticity.
-
The sizes of the pearls we sell range from 8mm in diameter up to 12mm, which with the grade determines the price of the pearls. We design and manufacture all our blue pearl jewellery (pendants, earrings and rings) in our shop on the Main Wharf in Akaroa. We use 18ct yellow, white or rose gold and also sterling silver.
